Well, I’ve been so busy between working, going to school, moving into a new house, and planning the wedding; that I haven’t had the chance to post on here as much as I would like. Both Shannon and I are having our bachelor/ette parties this weekend, and people are starting to trickle into town tonight. Can’t wait to see everybody next week!
60 days until the wedding and I can’t even believe it! There’s still so much to do, but everything is coming along great. I don’t think I’ve ever been so busy in my life between work, school, new house, and wedding planning. Shannon could say the same, especially since she would argue that I haven’t done any wedding planning.
And I think I said in an earlier post that invitations were going out soon. Well, I’m going to say it again and this time I mean it; all they need to do is tie the ribbons and put them in the mail box.
Also of note, the wedding shower is going to be this Sunday. I’m not invited.

I’ve been living in our new rental house for almost 2 weeks now! It’s a gorgeous little house built in the 20s with quaint little picket fence. So far I’m loving living in Lakeside; a great location close to downtown with a small town feel. We’ve still got a lot of hard work and love to put in the house, we’ve started painting all the walls and just yesterday started a garden.
I wish I had a picture of the house on hand, so instead I will treat you with this picture of a picket fence. So just picture this fence, but with paint peeling off.
 ICE
Shannon and I picked up our wedding bands. Somehow she convinced me that her band needed diamonds on it, because her engagement ring had diamonds on it, and they wouldn’t look right together otherwise. I’m not sure that makes sense, but she convinced me.
On the other hand, we bought my ring on sale at Wal-Mart.

If you haven’t already heard, we’ve moved our wedding up to June 11th. Yay for Summer Weddings! Invitations should be going out within a week.
 Maratea
We bought our plane tickets to Italy! We will be starting our trip in Rome for a few intense days of sightseeing while staying in a hostel. Then we will be traveling down the coast by train to the historic seaside village of Maratea where we will be staying in a resort for a week. From here we will go on day trips to pompeii and the greek ruins of Paestum. We will end our trip with a night in Naples before flying back to the States.
So – the wedding colors have officially been picked with the help of my sweet Nonnie and Momma- drum roll please….Ivory and Gold. As a homage to our Italian ancestry, my gaudy desires, and the vintage glamor of the late 1940’s, we will be celebrating in the warmth of golden glows…not only from the place settings, but our jewelry of course!
We went to the rental agency today and picked out some beautiful linens and place settings….you name it, we got it! I am so excited to see what it all looks like when it’s put together for the reception!
I also finally made up my mind on which bridesmaids dresses to go with. I was concerned about getting a dress that was suitable for all of my different ladies’ body types and styles, so I have narrowed it down to three dresses from David’s Bridal, and they all have a retro feel. The only problem is that they (of course) don’t have any of these dresses in gold, and they can’t be wearing white, so what the heck color do I choose for their gowns?! This is a mission for my maid of honor, Annie, to help me with for sure! Will keep you posted!
Hey! I’m so glad you’re checking out our site. I’ve never “blogged” before so I don’t even know what I’m supposed to write! I read Evan’s post, and it surprisingly only mentioned me about 5 times in as many sentences
I am so pumped about getting married, I can’t even tell ya enough! It’s so exciting to know that I am marrying my best ever buddy in the whole world, and it feels great to have all of my family and friends behind us, supporting us along the way.
I guess I am supposed to update you guys whenever a new wedding related thingy happens, so…I am sure a ton of updates will be coming up soon!
Hello and welcome to the website of Evan Earley and Shannon Stanton. I have created this site because Shannon and I will be getting married on September 3, 2010 June 11th, 2010. I still have a lot of content to fill in, but hopefully no on has showed up yet. And Shannon has been very helpful, I spent hours trying to get the right common license images for the header, and Shannon narrowed it down very quickly. She also helped me get the logo right, she demanded her wedding band have diamonds in the illustration I made. Even illustrations of Shannon’s jewelry have to be blingy.
